Refreshment Pairings To Make Your Holiday Season a Joy!
Jeff Opperman from Oppermann’s Cork ‘N’ Ale will be giving us tips on refreshment pairings that are perfect for the Holiday season!
On July 15th, 1995, Jeff Opperman purchased the Hillcrest Market and founded Oppermann’s Cork ‘N’ Ale. Within 5 years, sales increased 1000 percent. In October of 2001, a new 5000 square foot addition was opened. Making the total square footage 7200 with an additional 2200 square feet of storage upstairs. Cork ‘N’ Ale carries over 800 different beers, 7000 different wines and 3000 different liquors.
Jeff Oppermann is married to his wife Barb, and has four children. He has been in the wine industry since 1991. He attended college at Rochester Institute of technology in New York, Delta College and Saginaw Valley State University. He has been a member of the Saginaw Chamber since 1999, Bay Area Chamber of Commerce since the early 2000’s, Saginaw Township Business Association since 2000 and many more clubs in the area. He has spoke on wine on the Holland America Cruise Lines for Dow Chemical and many other businesses and social clubs.
Oppermann family History: In 1965 Fredrick Oppermann moved to the tri-cities, and founded the Oppermann Fur company. His son Gustave took over and continued the family business. Gustave’s son Peter’s Oppermann (Jeff’s Grandfather) founded the first radio, television and record store in Saginaw (Radio Center). His son David started Nationwide fireworks, which shot fireworks for President Regan’s Inauguration, Hank Arron’s Famous Homerun and many other historic events. He then founded Oppermann Travel in Saginaw, Bay City and Midland. Jeff founded Oppermann’s Cork ‘N’ Ale.
